Why must a DJ have Public Liability?

Many venues require a DJ mobile disco/ entertainer musician to have P.L.I , they do not want their insurance claimed against in the event of a disco related accident such as a client tripping over a speaker cable or stands falling on a guest, etc.

The level of P.L.I. will vary A typical hotel venue requirement may start at £5,000,000.

Whilst some insurance companies provide a £1,000,000 'standard' PLI cover, the Music Union provides £10,000,000 PLI cover for entertainers with additional membership benefits. All djs know that any disco can go wrong and accidents do happen make sure your disco equipment is covered
